Humans of the Hospital
Photoblog
Inspired by Humans of New York, Nafisa Husein launched Humans of the Hospital in January 2017 to spotlight the hardworking individuals behind the ICU-Bridge Program. Through portrait photography and heartfelt interviews, this photoblog brings to life the personal stories of those who work or volunteer in the hospital community.
The project celebrates the idea that science and art can coexist, and often do. Photography, a powerful storytelling tool, captures emotions and experiences in a single image, revealing more than words sometimes can. It offers a window into the humanity behind the scrubs, the dedication behind the scenes, and the compassion at the heart of hospital care.
In 2024, Nilly took over as the Humans of the Hospital Coordinator, continuing Nafisa’s original vision with new energy and creativity. With a passion for storytelling and visual arts, Nilly is excited to shine a light on the people who make the ICU-Bridge Program and our hospital community so special. Stay tuned for more stories from the heart of the hospital.
